05/02/19.

Today, we travelled down to Derby for our Volunteering training day, ready for when the FORMAT festival starts and we volunteer there.
There was information given to us about what is going on throughout the month, health and safety, what we should expect, some roles that we are going to be assigned to do and got told about some past exhibitions at the festival. It was also great to have a look around Derby it self before we go down in March.
After being at Quad, we moved onto Derby's art museum and there we had a short session with a member of staff who talked to us about 'art handling', this was good to hear and learnt a few tips and tricks. Learnt thing such as the best way to move art work and hold it, what to wear when moving the art, different packaging types that won't effect the art work and also some information about art moving forms and what needs to be filled in when transporting the work. Everything was handy as it prepped us, if during the festival we are needed to carry any art. It was also great to see some other art work that was on display at the museum.
