01/03/19.

Had a great day with the portfolio reviews, I had booked in to see Jack Greenwood and Mario Popham. The feedback from them both was varied but both so beneficial.

The feedback I got from Jack included;

- Look at Steven Gill's work.

- Get closer to things at the market.

- Look at the project "26 different endings." By Mark Power.

- Consider the lighting, different times of the day, week.

The feedback from Mario;

- Gets the idea from my image of things ending.

- The market is a way of life and it's a disappearing thing.

- It isn't a main stream place to go and visit (the market).

- Alien place, everything and everyone cooped under this roof of the market and it is and feels like some kind of little hub.

- Look into Charlotte Tanguy, she photographed Russia, a place she didn't know.

- Some of my images like the price signs area bit 'typical' as in they are at all markets and are quite recognisable and everyone would know that it is a market I have photographed, move away from mainstream, obvious things like this.

- Gets an idea os strangeness, work on this, this is a great idea and start to go with and make work about.

Mario also made a little series of my images, the ones that he liked the best and was drawn too and this unique idea of strangeness at the market was at their strongest.

After this day of the portfolio reviews I felt quite overwhelmed and full of new potential ideas that I could try with my project. It was so helpful to hear a outsiders thoughts on my project considering they don't know me or my project and also with the limited time with them for me to explain my project and them to then act and give me feedback on it, it's really interesting as to what they see and think of my project, many points that I wouldn't even think about and things that nobody else has mentioned or said.
