Guest speaker today was Lewis Chaplin from 'Loose Joints'. It was a great talk and very inspirational, he showed us many various photobooks that his company has been apart of and published and there was some great examples. The variety of the designs, content and materials was so wide and I gathered various ideas. Aswell as a powerpoint of examples, he had brought the actual book that was being shown. It was really beneficial to be able to feel and flick through the actual books and look into the finer details of that book.

After his talk, we then moved into the base room where I was able to show him my work and he gave me back some feedback and opinions that I noted down

. This included things such as;

"Hanging clothes can be like an empty shell." (Similar to how the market could be seen, empty.)

"Market is messy, cheap and secondhand."

"Faded quality." (Like markets them selves, fading away.)

"Market is slipping out of time, the general shoppers at the market being elderly people, whom don't use online shops so they use the markets."

"Could talk about the politics of food. Mangos of course don't come or are grown in Huddersfield."

"Markets are such social events, everyone knows each other."

"Market can show change, if you use them often you can notice for example the various fruits and vegetables that are being sold and different times of the year."
